About us
Ai.Bi. Associazione Amici dei Bambini is a non-governmental organization created by a movement of adoptive and foster families.
Since 1986 Ai.Bi. has been working to support children living in institutions all over the world and to fight against the abandonment emergency.
Our Association operates in Italy with a national office and 9 regional offices spread throughout the country.
Ai.bi. also operates in 25 countries of the world, with working offices in Eastern Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.
Next to Amici dei Bambini there are two other entities, La Pietra Scartata Association and the Ai.Bi. Foundation, that, in different fields, but on the basis of the same principles and values, promote the right of children to be someone’s children and its realisation.

The political manifesto
Ai.Bi.’s manifesto includes several proposals with regard to the child care policies.
Our most significant challenges:
- Gratuity of international adoptions.
- Regionalisation of entities.
- Eligibility for adoption not decided by Juvenile Courts.
- Promotion of European adoption.
- Management of private care structures
- Legal recognition of Foster homes.
